Junior Bookkeeper

Remote | Part-Time | $24–$30/hour | Approx. 10 hours/week

We’re looking for a Junior Bookkeeper to join the Franklynn Accounting team! This role is perfect for someone with a foundation in accounting who wants flexible, part-time work and the opportunity to learn and grow with a small virtual firm.

You’ll support our team with day-to-day bookkeeping, month-end reporting, and tax-season preparation while helping us give our clients the reliable, stress-free experience we’re known for.

  • Maintaining accurate financial records
  • Categorizing income and expense transactions
  • Preparing and processing journal entries
  • Completing month-end reconciliations
  • Preparing financial reports, including income statements and balance sheets
  • Assisting with income tax preparation during tax season (January 15–April 15)
  • Attending 1:1 planning meetings as needed

What you’ll be doing:

  • Have 1–3 years of bookkeeping/accounting experience or relevant accounting coursework
  • Are proficient in Microsoft products, including Excel and Word
  • Have excellent attention to detail and organization skills
  • Are reliable, communicative, and comfortable working independently
  • Aren’t afraid to ask questions and are excited to learn new systems
  • Have a high school diploma or GED

You might be a great fit if you:

Ideally, you’re currently pursuing or have earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting and are looking for a role where you can continue developing your skills. There’s potential for this position to grow into a larger role over time.

Please note: this position is not intended for someone looking to start or grow their own bookkeeping business.

schedule + availability:

This is a flexible, remote position requiring approximately 10 hours per week, with potential to grow for the right person.

We’re currently looking for someone available 3 days per week between 9am–3pm EST. Because client reports are due by the 15th of each month, availability during the first two weeks of the month is essential.
